Description

This belt is a 1 1/2" wide chunky strap of 100% full grain leather made with 4 mm thick (10 oz leather) dark brown bridle leather.   This belt is not your typical department store belt and will likely be the last belt you need to buy for a long long time... unless you like it so much that you decide to get more color options, which of course, we would be happy to provide.   The leather on this belt is the same leather used to rein horses so you know it's extra strong!

The buckle on this belt is made from stainless steel and is held in place by stainless steel Chicago screws to both provide a very rugged and strong bond around the buckle as well as allowing you to make changing the buckle as easy as possible if you decide you want to change it out with another buckle.

The belt keeper loop on this belt is a also made of the same heavy duty leather and will keep your belt nice and tidy when wearing it.

The edge of this belt are beveled and dyed black to provide a nice accent to the belt color.

We leave 3 1/2" after the last hole on the belt to make sure you always have enough belt to go through the belt loop on your pants and our own loop installed in the belt.

We put seven holes in these belts spaced 3/4" apart.   Many belts have their holes spaced at 1" intervals, but 3/4" between holes makes it easier for you adjust the belt in smaller increments to find a comfortable fit, both before and after those memorable family dinners.  While I can't claim credit for coming up with the idea to put 7 holes spaced 3/4" apart on my belts, when I first saw it, it made a whole lot of sense to me, and as a result, that's how I space the holes in my belts.

As this belt is made from bridle leather it will stretch and mold itself to your waistline, and it will change it's color shade (usually darker, except for black which I can't see it getting any darker than it already is) over the life of the belt, developing your own personal patina from exposure to the light and the oils on your hands.  Like a fine wine, belts made with this type of leather actually get better with age.

BELT SIZING --- VERY VERY IMPORTANT

TO GET THE CORRECT BELT SIZE YOU MUST FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS FOR BELT SIZING BELOW.   *** YOUR BELT SIZE IS NOT THE SAME AS YOUR PANT SIZE! ***

HOW TO ORDER THE CORRECT BELT SIZE:

1.  If you know your pant size on a NEW pair of pants that FIT you, you can simply add 2 sizes to the pant size and that would be your belt size.   (example:  Pant size 34, Belt size 36)

NOTE:   Here is the reason point method 1 is so important.   If you have a size 34 pants that you have been wearing through several family holiday seasons (we're talking Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years holidays, plus those always wonderful Saturday back yard bbq's) those favorite 34 inch pants of yours likely have stretched to match your true, post holiday, waistline.  So, what was once a 34, might now be a true size 35 or even a size 36 (yes pant fabric can stretch this far) and if you order the belt size based on the marked 34 inch pant size, when the actual current pant size is now 35 or 36, you will be buying a belt that is too small.

2.  The absolute BEST way to get the correct belt size is to measure a belt that you are currently using.   Take it off, lay it out on a table, and measure the length of the belt from where the leather folds over the buckle to the hole that you are using on the belt.  That measurement, in inches, will be your CORRECT and current belt size.

NOTE:  BE SURE to measure your belt from where the leather folds over the buckle and NOT the end of the buckle for your belt size.   We make our belts using this measurement as a guide so to get the correct size belt, please measure carefully.

I have uploaded a picture of the correct way to measure your belt and included it in our product pictures above.
